If this is Tuesday, it must be England #100

In case it hasn't come across your radar yet, today is Day One of Royal Ascot, the premier hat-wearing occasion on the British Social Calendar.  Royal Hats put up a poll to guess what color Her Majesty would be wearing today and I chose blue.  As you can see, she wore...yellow!

Everyone's favorite newlyweds also put in an appearance today.

Check out Royal Hats for all the Day One fashions.

In case you missed yesterday's news, the Garter Service, the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Great Britain, was held in St. George' Chapel at Windsor Castle.  How does she manage it?  92 years old, in a long gown and cape, and carrying a handbag, and navigating the stairs.  Amazing!

And finally, congratulations to Zara and Mike Tindall on their birth yesterday of their new daughter, the seventh great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.  Name to be announced.

  1. And she's not even holding on to the handrail! This puts me to shame. Stairs totally broadcast my decrepitude these days.
