Do you still send Christmas cards in the mail? I do, even though the number I get in return is less and less every year. That's ok, I love sending them and I'm grateful for those who are still sending them as well.
I found this little tidbit intriguing.
and I have another one - in the case of a couple, never separate the man's first name from his last. So, Jane and John Smith, never John and Jane Smith.
I send Christmas cards if I have a good family picture of us (lame but that is honestly the criteria that I use). I liked reading the information about names. I had seen most of it before but not the last part about the woman´s name going first and not separating a man´s first name from his last. Very interesting! Thanks for sharing this...
ReplyDeleteI've given up trying to get a (good) photo of the three of us! I've switched to minted.com cards which have beautiful artwork.
DeleteFor years I put my Hubby's name first! I am considering sending out cards this year - the first time since he died. The last few years, the number of cards received has dwindled. But maybe I can jump start that!
ReplyDeleteI once reached out to an estranged member of the family with a Christmas card, and it rejuvenated the relationship. It was lovely to hear from them every year.
DeleteI only send a few Christmas cards a year, mainly to older family members who don't keep up with things online. I never thought of the etiquette of Christmas cards. How interesting.
ReplyDeleteI had a couple of elderly family members who always sent cards - neither of them ever had a computer and I treasure their cards in their handwriting.
