It's time for another Happy Homemaker Monday with Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom. Click here if you'd like to join in.
The weather:::
A ridiculously high 79 degrees today but then moving down into the low 60s all week - is this truly fall?
On my reading pile:::
Part Four of Keep the Home Fires Burning is still waiting on my Kindle. I've been too busy with December Daily to read anything.
Outlander, Season 3, on STARZ
Bramwell
Doc Martin, Season 8, on Acorn
Poldark on PBS
The Durrells in Corfu on PBS
On the menu for this week:::
Monday - Flank Steak, Roasted Red Potatoes, Mushrooms
Tuesday - Bangers and Mash
Wednesday - Salmon, Roasted Red Potatoes, Carrots
Thursday - Lemon-Garlic Grilled Shrimp, Zucchini
Friday - Dinner and a Movie (The Foreigner with Pierce Brosnan)
On my to-do list:::
- Continuing on with the Holiday Grand Plan - it's Garage Week, Vic's domain, but I have a few things out there I need to sort.
- Volunteer shift at the gift shop
- Decision time - to buy or not to buy - the vintage ceramic tree during Hallmark's Holiday Open House (runs until November 10) so I can use my $10 worth of rewards dollars on the purchase
Anyone else have memories of this tree?
December Daily - working on my foundation pages, reading all the amazing ideas in the Facebook group, watching past years' videos for more inspiration. My cover page looks like this - not sure I'm going to add anything else but I'm thinking about a sentiment at the very bottom, just not sure which one yet.
A decorated 6x8 sheet (the tree made from words) with an overlay of a transparency full of green sentiments. I adhered a wooden star (that I embossed in gold) on the overlay to give it some texture.
Laundry, sticking to the daily housekeeping plan.
From the camera:::
This weekend's haul - we visited a craft fair and drove over to the town of Smithfield (Smithfield ham, anyone?) for the town's Christmas in Smithfield event - I picked up a surprise for MudLynn (it's in the paw print bag) and the lighthouse at the craft fair and the little pig in Smithfield
Something fun (or intriguing) to share:::
What I'm wearing today:::
Vic started his overseas screening last week. I have one doctor's appointment to get out of the way and then I'll start mine.
We went to see A Bad Moms Christmas on Friday - be warned, it's heavy on the language and downright inappropriate at times but hilarious. That's entertainment these days I'm afraid.
Jeans, T-shirt, it's 79 degrees, what can I say?
Bangers and mash is one of my favorite dishes. :-) Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteOhmygoodness! I so enjoy reading your posts! You just really add to the excitement of getting me in the Christmas spirit! If I had the money and the opportunity I'd say yes to the Hallmark tree for sure! What a great addition that would make to the Christmas decor! And your menu plan is amazing! Everything sounds absolutely delicious! Have a great week ahead and blessings! <3
ReplyDeleteI surely do enjoy stopping by for a visit.. we are definitely two peas in a pod!!! Blessings for our preps for the overseas tours!!!
ReplyDeleteThe ornaments you picked up are so nice. I love the little pig. have a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteMy mom had one of those Christmas trees! I say buy it :) Bad Moms Christmas is a movie I'd kind of like to see but I never saw the first Bad Moms movie so I'm a bit on the fence. Hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteLove the ceramic tree! can't wait to see the movie : )
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see I am not the only one already in the Christmas spirit! I love the vintage tree! My Grandmaw had one and it brings back a tone of memories! Hope you have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteI love both trees. My mom had the first one, you did a great job on the second one. I need that cute little piggy ornament! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm running late this week with getting back from up north and getting sick right away. The time change is also messing with me BIG time too. I LOVE that sentiment tree - so special. Have a MGREAT week.
