The Royal Windsor Horse Show is in full swing this week and it made me think back to 2013 when I surprised Sophia with tickets to the Washington International Horse Show. October 2013 was a blog-less month so this is the first time I have covered it. We had a wonderful time, did a little sightseeing in the city, and then headed to the event.
There were lots of vendors and Sophia picked up an item from her bucket list - a Barbour jacket. Barbour is the ultimate in equestrian chic.
We were fortunate to have tickets for the night the Presidents' Cup would take place. Many world-class riders were present and Sophia was thrilled.
These guys entertained us during the intermission and they were hilarious!
Here's Beezie Madden (left), American show jumper and Olympic medalist, walking the course.
Kent Farrington, ranked the number one rider in the world, took home first place in the Presidents' Cup.
The Washington International Horse Show takes place in October and you can find all the details here. This year is the 60th anniversary of the show.
