It's the first Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for Currently. Don't you love Jennifer's new graphic? Here's what we're loving, looking forward to, resolving, doing to stay cozy this month, and cooking. Grab the graphic if you like and tell us what you're doing currently by linking up over at Overflowing with Thankfulness. I can guarantee there will be lots of fun reading!
loving//this:
Always thankful for holiday greetings, however they come, but especially thankful for those who still send cards.
looking forward to//a three-day scrapbook retreat coming up in February. I've missed every other multi-day retreat since we moved here so I am committed to making this one!
resolving// to make 2024 the year I get back into some of the clothes on the "thin" side of my closet!
doing to stay cozy this month//Love this photo, this is so cozy (minus the hot chocolate - see resolving above)! A cozy sweater, candles, photos to scrapbook, staying home warm and dry.
cooking//Nothing. I've completely lost interest so I am very thankful that Vic has taken over chef duties and he's doing an amazing job! I didn't think I'd ever see him pour over cookbooks the way he has done lately. I'll be sharing one of his masterpiece dishes on Friday so please stop back by.
Vic embracing mise en place, never thought I'd see that either. Did you know there are five steps to mise en place? What would we do without Google!
- Know your recipe — necessary ingredients, cookware, and baking times
- Prepare your ingredients — clean, chop, mince… whatever is required
- Arrange your ingredients — appropriate size bowls, positioned logically
- Prepare your workstation — set the oven temperature, clean the utensils
- Arrange your tools — similar logic applied to cookware and necessary equipment
I'm so glad you like the new graphic! I liked the neutral color of the background. I thought you lived in England, for some reason...I'm glad you clarified that for me! Your scrapbooking retreat and Vic cooking both sound amazing!
ReplyDeleteI wish! My Mum was British and I grew up in England so it's always been home but with Vic's naval career, we've been up and down the East Coast and are now settled in Washington. It's often grey and cloudy and rains a fair amount so it's pretty close to England lol!
DeleteI bought some fairly decent sugar-free cocoa (Swiss Miss) recently and it hits the spot when I'm cozy in my chair reading at night. Try it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'll look for it.
DeleteWow - that is an impressive amount of Christmas cards! I collect ours each year, but each year the pile dwindles down to less and less. I think I received less than ten this year - I sent out close to 100 though!
ReplyDeleteI'm always up for someone else doing the cooking!!!
ReplyDeleteLots of Christmas cards! That is impressive!! Your scrapbooking retreat sounds like it will be a wonderful time to catch up move forward with projects. I am with you on the resolving- too many of my clothes are too tight!
ReplyDeleteI feel like our cards dwindle in number a bit each year, but every single one brings a smile to my face! That scrapbooking weekend sounds so fun!!
ReplyDeleteI just love that cozy photo....it oozes coziness! I'll even take the hot chocolate (sugar-free!) :)
