Royal Albert is one of the brands of the Royal Doulton group (known as Doulton when it began in 1815 and upgraded to Royal Doulton when the company received a Royal Warrant in 1901). Made in London and then Stoke-on-Trent, most of the production now takes place in Indonesia.
I've been collecting Royal Albert's Old Country Roses pattern since the 1980s. I used to belong to Macy's China Club where you made a large purchase and could take 18-24 months to pay it off without any interest. I have a complete dinner service as well as many of the serving and accessory pieces.
I've also started collecting the Flowers of the Month series cups and saucers. Only available via secondary sources now, it's been fun to search out antique stores and consignment shops.
It was at a consignment shop that I found another Royal Albert collection to work on - the Four Seasons.
I look forward to the day when I have a china cabinet large enough to display my entire collection. It's going to have to be something like this!

ReplyDeletePamela, I just have a few pieces of OCR, from the made in England era. I wrote about how I got them last June in my Coronation Chicken post. Yes, you are going to need a very large china cabinet!
