Christmas in July 2018 - Day Three

As you know if you've been reading for a while, this is the year we search for and hopefully find our forever home in Washington.  I go back and forth between wanting a single level home and wanting one with a staircase.  Every time I carry a basket of laundry up the stairs, you can hear my mantra of "single level, single level, single level" on every step but then I see something like this photo and I yearn for a staircase.  Watch this space in the months to come!

This photo comes from 27 Christmas Staircase Decor Ideas That You Will Love and there are some gorgeous ideas for you to enjoy.

  1. I always tell Allen when I see a house with a big wrap porch or porch and then the staircase that I only want that house for the holidays to decorate but not the rest of the year! Even tho I would take porch but don't want the stairs. So pretty to decorate railings.

  3. I'm like Lana, I'd love to have stairs for the holidays, but only for decoration purposes. We had stairs in our home for years when the kids were younger. But now we stick to single story. I LOVE porches, though!

  4. Since we are now empty-nesters, if/when we do need to move, I might look for a house with the master bedroom/bath and laundry on the main floor, so I would probably only need to do the stairs before and after having overnight guests … although I think my studio would probably end up being upstairs.
