This is a really tough decision, a sad one, but I am closing my blog. I won't say it will be forever but it will be for some time. I've been plagued by nuisance comments for some time that I had to go to moderated comments but it hasn't helped. I don't know enough about Blogger and blogging in general to set up another form to filter out these people. I write from the heart, about things I enjoy, about things I think you might enjoy, and it's very disconcerting to know that my blog is being read by people who may have malicious intent.
So, my friends, this is goodbye. I know several of you outside the blogging world, through email or exchanging Christmas cards, and I hope we can stay connected that way. If anyone else would like to stay connected, please reach out to me.
I get you 100%!! Recently, by looking at the "stats" section of my blog, I discovered that many of the referring URLS's are very inappropriate sites. While there are some that I know are blogs I read, there are other referring sites with dubious names, and in clicking on one, I discovered it to be a porn site. ReplyDeleteOh Pamela, I'm so sorry. I love your blog! I will definitely be staying in touch with you and hope you're able to continue reading the blogs you enjoy. I wish I knew more about blogger... like, is there a way to completely block people? I know you can choose to only receive comments from people you follow by changing the privacy settings, but I'm not sure how much of a hassle that is. If I learn anything that would help solve this issue I will email you.

ReplyDeleteOh, I hate spammers. It's rare that I get spam on my current posts...the posts that get the most spam are really old ones, which I think is weird. I have my settings set so that any comments on posts over 30 days old goes straight to moderation, so I just ignore them, since they just sit in moderation rather than showing up on the blog post they were commenting on, then I go to the moderation page occasionally and delete them all at one time.
