Happy Homemaker Monday 4/10/2017

It's time for another Happy Homemaker Monday with Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.  Click here if you'd like to join in .

The weather:::

Spring is here, summer is coming.  Temperatures are in the high 60s, 70s, even 80 one day this week.

On my reading pile:::
Still working on To Everything a Season, Book 1 in the Song of Blessing series.

On my TV:::

Call the Midwife
Home Fires
Grace and Frankie
Foyle's War (working my way through this for the umpteenth time on Amazon Video)

On the menu for this week:::

Monday - Oven-Roasted Salmon with Sautéed Green Beans
Tuesday - Grilled Shrimp with Asparagus
Wednesday - Lamb Korma
Thursday - Thai Red Beef Curry with Green Beans
Friday - Movie and Dinner Out, I think
Saturday - Leftovers probably
Sunday - Easter Brunch after church, something light for dinner

On my to-do list:::

  • Make-up coffee date with my friend Kelly - third time lucky I hope as the first time was cancelled due to an active shooter alert on the base (it was a false alarm) and the second time due to a tornado watch and the warning (also a no-go for our area, thank goodness).  It was quite an eventful week!
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Tea Cup and Mug Exchange posts will be up on April 19th - can't wait to see all the goodies that were received by the 212 participants.  Shout out to our amazing hostess, Stephanie at The Enchanting Rose, for putting the whole thing together.  I finished up the 2015 and 2016 Christmas Card albums and have moved on to Vic's career book - the last entry was September 2013 so I'm not too far behind on that one.  I was going to start with the 2009 Family Album but when I reviewed the photo file, I saw that we took 1223 photos that year - that's going to be a huge project to decide which ones are photo-worthy enough to make it into print.  It was a whooper of a year - my Dad died so we took a trip to California for his memorial service, we did a LOT of work on our house (new front porch, new driveway, new walkway, new heating system), Sophia went to horse camp in western New York while Vic and I toured some sights in New England, and we did a lot of things, just the three of us and with friends, in our local area.  Lots of photos.

Looking around the house:::

Basically tidy - just need to unload the dishwasher.

From the camera:::
No photos this week other than the shots of the books that are featured in my A to Z posts.

Something fun to share:::
We finally made it to the movies to see Beauty and the Beast.  It was just as wonderful as everyone's reviews.

Not something fun, but something I need to share - I'm still having Blogger Woes - I am reading your posts, my comments are just not coming through to your emails.

What I'm wearing today:::
Capris, T-shirt, sweater on the back of my chair in case I get chilly.

Bible Verse, Devotional:::

There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again - Elizabeth Laurence, actor

  1. I've been cooking for nearly 50 years and the only time I know in advance what I am making is for holidays. I am making pizza for dinner tonight and the kids are coming on Thursday for pasta and meatballs. Beyond that I wing it, lol.

    1. I had to chuckle because although I have these very good intentions to make and serve these meal, what ends up on the dinner table is often very different!

  2. Happy to hear that you saw and enjoyed Beauty and the Beast. The set design and costumes were so impressive. You have an impressive selection of dinners this week. I don't even know a grocery store locally that sells lamb. Would have to go into the city for that. :) You have some nice weather coming up this week. Hope you have a nice Easter!

  5. This is my first time making Easter dinner. I also try to follow my menu plan but generally only maybe 50% of it is actually cooked and served on the day that it's planned for! lol At least we try!

  6. I only have boys at home now, so am trying to make myself go to the movies alone to see Beauty and the Beast! I will have to look for that book - love Lauraine Snelling. Have a lovely week.
