Welcome to BLOGMAS 2019! Now I remember how nice it was to NOT be working in the month of December! All kinds of crazy are about to begin and it will all be crammed into each Monday to Friday evening and the weekends. Too hectic for you? My shopping and wrapping is done, trees are up, cleaning lady is scheduled to give the house a once-over, and I think I can do it. Here we go!
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
Let's break the month into weeks and see what's on the agenda:
Week 1 - December 1 through December 7
Tea party and ornament exchange scheduled for the weekend so during the week, we will have cleaning lady a-visiting, tiny sandwich a-making, mouth-watering (I hope) scone a-baking, thank you for coming gifts a-wrapping, a few more touches to decorating a-finishing, and a partridge in a pear tree...did that get you singing? Also on tea party and ornament exchange day is the tree lighting in our town.
Week 2 - December 8 through 14
Starting off the week with a Holiday Favorites Concert at a local church, Christmas potluck at the office (pat self on the back: first one to sign up means I'm bringing the utensils, napkins, and cups... I know, what a cop-out but 'tis the season to avoid cooking if you can). End of the week brings the start of City Sidewalks 2019, our weekend getaway to stay at a hotel, eat out at yummy restaurants, see a show, shop, and enjoy the holiday lights.
Week 3 - December 15 through December 21
Whew, nothing on the calendar and that's a good thing right now because it's the week before Vic and Sophia arrive! That means whizzing over the house with the vacuum, mop, washing sheets, towels, and making sure the fridge, freezer, and bar are stocked. We do have a party invite but we're a Maybe since it could be happening right as Vic is arriving from the airport.
Week 4 - December 22 through December 28
Target shopping trip, Barnes and Noble shopping trip, prepping for our Christmas Eve buffet, Christmas Eve church service, Call the Midwife Holiday Special, a couple of visits to the cinema (the new Jumanji and Star Wars movies are on the top of the list), and lots of family time. Vic's home, Sophia's home, Spectra's home, I'm on leave from work. Happy, Happy Holidays!
And finishing off the month - December 29 through December 31
Hair appointment and our pretty traditional low-key New Year's Eve (ie. in bed by about 10:00pm).
I adore how you broke this up into weeks and you even had me singing (in my head) the first week to the tune of A Partridge in a Pear Tree. I'm so happy you're joining in for BLOGMAS. It's all about having fun!
