If this is Tuesday, it must be England #13

I'm revving up If this is Tuesday, it must be England again and I've decided to import some of the posts from my old (private) blog.  Enjoy...and if you've already seen the post, enjoy it again!

Alnwick Castle is the second largest inhabited castle in England, and has been the home of the Percys, Earls and Dukes of Northumberland since 1309. Alnwick Castle has been used as a setting in many films and television series including two of the Harry Potter films.

The castle lies just off the A1 in the historic market town of Alnwick. There is no shortage of things to see and do at Alnwick. Tour the castle and grounds, visit the garden, have tea in the Courtyard Cafe. There is a host of workshops and other activities for children. If you want to stay a little longer, check out the Alnwick Castle Cottages for your next holiday.

Alnwick Castle will re-open for the season on March 27, 2015.

  1. It also featured in The Downton Abbey 2014 Christmas Special. I need to put this on my Travel Bucket List xx

    1. I saw that. This is a post that was on my old blog so I went to the site to update the 2015 season date. I couldn't place the episode but then I remembered that it hasn't aired yet here in the States. I'll be watching for it.
