Our favorite non-food Advent calendars are the ones put out by Playmobil. I bought a new one each year for about the first four or five years and then we just started recycling them. There are lots of themes - Santa's workshop, Christmas bakery, woodland scenes, and the Christmas post office shown below. There are also a lot of non-Christmas themes like city scenes, horse farms (also below), and princess scenes. They are easy for parents to put together and it's so much fun to watch your little ones open a box each morning and place the item on the backdrop to make the scene.
